Restore Image |
The 'Restore Image' dialog allows you to map partitions in the backup image to the target disk. Macrium Reflect can select the original locations by default, but you can elect to reorder and resize restored partitions on the target disk if you choose. There are a number of links and buttons to help you choose where to locate partitions or you can click-and-drag them.
Macrium Reflect indicates system partitions by displaying the operating system logo, for example the Windows flag , in the top left corner of the partition on the partition diagram.
If the restore includes system partitions, the computer boots into a memory-resident Windows PE environment before restoring the system partitions and restarting to the restored system state.
The 'Source' section of the dialog shows the partitions and disks available to be restored. In the example above, there is a FAT32 Primary partition (NO NAME), Unformatted Primary partition and an NTFS Primary partitions (C:).
The 'Destination' section of the dialog shows where the image is to be restored. By default, Reflect will attempt to restore to the disk that was backed up. In the example above however, the original disk is not present. Before you can start arranging your partitions, you need to click the Select a disk to restore to... link in the destination. This will enable you to select the target disk.
Once the target disk has been selected, partitions can be dragged or copied to the target disk using the mouse or by clicking 'Copy Selected Partitions'

Select a different target |
Allows you to select a different target drive. Macrium Reflect assumes that you want to restore to the original drive it if is present, but this is not always the case |

Delete Existing partition |
If necessary, use this option to delete partitions on your
target drive to make space for your restored partitions. Normally, you
would drag and drop onto existing partitions or empty space, however,
if the target disk has a different layout to the source disk then this
can enable you to restructure your target disk for the restore. |

Allows you to resize the restored partition. | |

Verify image before restore |
Reflect will ensure that the image has been verified before the restore begins. If the verification fails, the restore will not commence. |

Copy selected partitions when I click next |
This is a short cut that allows you to simply select the partitions you wish to restore. They will be automatically placed in the same position on the target disk as they appear in the image. |
