It is possible to use Visual Basic to automate the running of your backups. If you have a complex backup strategy, scripting the individual or specialized requirements can make running your backup simple and straightforward once the initial set up has been completed. In order to make the process of automation as simple as possible, Macrium Reflect can create a working script template that can be modified if required at a later time.

To create a script to run a specific XML definition file, either click the icon in the 'Backup Definition Files' tab or right-click the XML definition file you wish to script and select 'Generate a VBScript File'
