Backup Tab

The main backup screen is shown below. Note that the main action tab has been selected and that the secondary action tab is showing options such as 'Create a Backup', 'Backup Definition Files' etc.

Backup specific tabs

Within the backup screen, it is possible to carry out the following actions by selecting the relevant tab

Create backups of specific disks, partitions or clone a disk

Backup Definition Files

Manage, schedule and run XML Backup Definition Files

VBScript Files

Manage, edit, schedule and run VB scripts

MS-DOS Batch Files

Manage, edit, schedule and run MS-DOS batch files

Scheduled Backups

Create and manage scheduled tasks


Backup Tasks

The left-hand pane titled 'Backup Tasks' allows the following actions to be performed:

Image Local Drives

Image all local drives on this computer

Backup Windows

Create an image of the partition(s) required to backup and restore Windows

Backup Files

Create a File and Folder backup

Other Tasks

Underneath the Backup Tasks menu is the Other Tasks menu which can be expanded if necessary.


Disk specific options

By clicking on a specific disk it is possible to perform actions associated with that disk

Description

Clone this disk...

Highlighted in red, this link creates a clone of the selected disk. If this is a system disk, it can be redeployed to a different system without any further configuration required. This is useful if you are upgrading your disk

Image this disk...

Highlighted in green, this link runs the 'Image Local Drives' wizard, selecting the current disk and associated partitions by default


Partition specific options

It is possible to perform a number of partition specific actions. Click on the partition you are interested in and then click on the 'Actions' button underneath.

Selecting the 'Actions' pull-down menu gives three options:

Image this partition only...

This runs the 'Image Local Drives' wizard, but selects only this selected partition by default

File System Properties...

Displays the Windows dialog equivalent to selecting a disk in Windows Explorer and viewing it's properties.

Analyze File System...

Displays an analysis of the file system on the current partition
